Founded in 1920 by Paul Martin in Lyon, New Map produced a variety of vehicle styles from 1920 until the mid-fifties. They used different proprietary engines in their motorcycles.

The New Map Baby motorcycle is a very rare beast by now. It’s interesting that soon after production of this model ceased, in 1936, New Map introduced a New Map Baby miniature car with the same engine.

The Fichtel & Sachs engine was the German equivalent of the British Villiers engine. After this engine was introduced in the early thirties, over 50 different manufacturers introduced a lightweight motorcycle to their range, powered by the Fichtel & Sachs 100cc engine.
